I am writing this after watching the episode last night. Its obvious, we did not work well as a team but looking back through the photos I am proud of what we did achieve as it was all very difficult and in such a small amount of time. There were moments of agreement but they were few and far between. We did not have the best start during our prep week and when there are so many different opinions there were a lot of compromises. I learnt a lot this week about trying to explain my ideas and opinions more clearly and just in general trying to communicate things in a better way and to try and keep calm and professional.Read More
It is a bit of a strange feeling watching the shows back but it has been lovely to finally get to talk about the whole experience. I am writing this a couple of days before Episode 4 is due to air and I swear the weeks are going so quickly at the minute!
This week is student halls. I lived in halls for a year as a student in Southampton and the flats and rooms were pretty grim. I remember how often things would get broke, things would get stood on, jumped off, wet, leaned on, set on fire. This may have just been my uni experience but from everything I remember halls have to go through a lot.Read More
Here we are at Episode 3 and it is a huge leap in terms of scale from the last two weeks, its now shops! The first thing I need to tell you about this episode and one of the extra hard parts of it which was totally unseen is we actually had to design two shops! This meant rough costings for both as well as looking into products colours etc - all within about ten days and a lot of that we were away filming episode 2. This is because it wouldn’t be known who was going through to this episode until the end of episode two. We were all asked to design two of the shops and then on the day we would be told which shop we had to pitch for, leaving the other design redundant.Read More
So I made it through to week two and I had done this once so I understand a little more about how it all works. Now we are off to Bournemouth!
It’s straight to the hotel and we have a quick turn around until we get filming. I drive to site which again feels like a bit of a safe zone. This time I’m teamed with Terian and Frank, we got of to a slightly shaky start when discussing our ideas so was a bit nervous about what things would be like when we arrived. When we first get to Bournemouth it still feels a little like the two separate teams from the first week, but its get better after the team drive in.Read More
I think it must have been about February 2018 when I got a phone call at our shop from a TV company. Did I know anyone who was a semi professional interior designer that may be interested in taking part in a show they were making? I really didn’t know what got into me but I was having a lovely chat on the phone and said maybe I could do it. I had done a few interior jobs and wanted to do more, so why not.Read More
This website has been a big leap for both myself and my husband Edd. We have owned and run our Decorative Antiques business since 2010. As a general creative kind of person I have always been involved with separate projects away from Dig Haüshizzle. Other projects have included, brand photography, product photography, styling and mostly Interior Design.Read More
